The opportunity

Reporting to the VP, Business Transformation, we are seeking a System Lead, Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP to own and evolve WELL’s enterprise ERP platform. This role ensures Dynamics 365 delivers sustained business value, supports core financial and operational processes, and adapts to the organization’s evolving needs.

This newly created role brings structure, accountability, and clarity to a growing and increasingly complex ERP environment supported today by internal teams, outsourced providers, and Microsoft. As the platform expands across finance, procurement, operations, and corporate functions, this role provides dedicated ownership across roadmap planning, backlog management, support governance, and system optimization.

You will serve as the single point of accountability for the Dynamics 365 ecosystem, balancing day-to-day system ownership, backlog prioritization, and release decisions with hands-on execution, including configuration, issue resolution, enhancements, and day-to-day system stewardship. This is a hands-on role requiring comfort working directly in the system and leveraging modern tools, including AI, to accelerate resolution and continuous improvement.

Partnering closely with Finance, Procurement, Operations, Transformation stakeholders, Microsoft, and external delivery partners, you will ensure the platform is stable, well governed, and continuously improving. You will also identify opportunities to better leverage Dynamics 365, close process gaps, and improve system configuration, documentation quality, and standardization to enable scalable, efficient operations.

This is a fully remote role, open across Canada, with preference for candidates based in Vancouver or Toronto.

Who you are

You are a hands-on ERP leader with experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations environments, likely having grown from a Business Analyst, Senior Analyst, or System Lead role into one where you own or influence system direction, backlog prioritization, and support governance.

You are comfortable operating at both a planning and execution level, setting priorities, shaping system direction, and aligning stakeholders, while also working directly in the system to troubleshoot issues, test changes, configure functionality, and resolve operational problems.

You bring strong business acumen in finance-led ERP environments and understand how systems like Dynamics 365 support core processes such as month-end close, journal entries, procurement, accounts payable, asset management, and financial reporting. You are pragmatic, curious, and resourceful, and actively use AI tools to accelerate troubleshooting, explore configuration options, and improve solution design.

What’s in it for you

System Ownership. You will be the primary owner of WELL’s Dynamics 365 ERP platform, accountable for how it is structured, prioritized, supported, and evolved. This is a single-threaded ownership role with direct accountability for outcomes, not a shared or advisory position.

Strategy & Execution. You will operate across both planning and delivery. While you will help define system priorities and release direction, you will also be actively inside the system configuring, troubleshooting, testing, and improving functionality in real time.

Enterprise Impact. You will be shaping a critical enterprise platform at a time when WELL is actively optimizing and modernizing how ERP supports finance and operations across a multi-entity environment.

AI-Enabled Workstyle. You will be expected to leverage AI tools to support configuration, issue resolution, documentation, and continuous improvement, working as a “small team of one” supported by smart tools and external partners.

You will:

  • Own system strategy & roadmap. You will own the Dynamics 365 ERP roadmap, ensuring alignment with finance, procurement, operations, and enterprise priorities. You will define what gets done, why it matters, and how it drives business value.
  • Manage backlog & priorities. You will translate business needs, issues, and enhancement requests into a structured backlog, continuously prioritizing based on value, urgency, risk, and effort.
  • Act as system owner & business partner. You will serve as the primary point of accountability for Dynamics 365 across WELL, partnering closely with Finance and other stakeholders to assess system performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Hands-on system execution. You will work directly in Dynamics 365 to configure functionality, troubleshoot issues, test fixes, and support operational processes such as workflows, journal entries, and data processing.
  • Own support & vendor ecosystem. You will define and govern the support model, including triage, escalation paths, service levels, and working closely with Microsoft and external service providers as execution partners responsible for system support and delivery outcomes.
  • Drive releases & continuous improvement. You will lead testing, release planning, business readiness, and adoption activities while improving how Dynamics 365 is used through better configuration, reduced customization, stronger process design, and clear documentation of system configuration and decisions, leveraging AI to accelerate delivery and insights.

You bring:

  • The education and experience. You bring a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You also bring several years of experience in ERP systems, enterprise business systems, or application ownership roles, including hands-on experience supporting and working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP or comparable enterprise platforms.
  • The functional and technical expertise.  You have deep functional and technical familiarity with Dynamics 365, particularly across core finance modules such as general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, procurement, and month-end close processes. You have experience managing system backlogs, enhancements, release cycles, and production support in complex ERP environments, and are comfortable working closely with outsourced vendors or managed service providers in a structured support model..
  • The system delivery and execution. You are equally comfortable translating business requirements into functional system changes as you are working directly in the system, configuring, testing, and resolving issues. You’ve operated in agile or hybrid delivery environments and understand how to balance structured governance with fast-moving business needs.
  • The ownership mindset. You bring a strong ERP ownership mindset with accountability for outcomes rather than coordination alone. You are a structured thinker who can prioritize competing demands, communicate clearly across technical and business stakeholders, and translate system issues into meaningful business impact. You are analytical, pragmatic, and focused on delivering implementable solutions, and you are comfortable operating independently in a lean environment without heavy internal support.
  • The nice-to-have qualifications. You bring value-added experience such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations certification, exposure to the Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps), and experience working in multi-entity, high-growth, or acquisition-driven environments. Familiarity with ERP governance, licensing optimization, or system consolidation initiatives would be considered an asset.
