The opportunity

Reporting to the SVP, Technology Services, we are seeking a Senior Director, Technology M&A Integration to build and lead WELL’s technology M&A diligence and integration function across a high-volume acquisition environment. In this critical leadership role, you will transform a 12–18 month integration backlog into a disciplined, 90-day post-close model, driving speed, predictability, and minimal disruption across an expanding portfolio of acquisitions.

This is a newly created mandate reflecting WELL’s evolution from a decentralized model to a dedicated, enterprise-level M&A integration function.  As acquisition pace and complexity continue to increase, the organization requires a leader who can establish structure, drive consistency, and scale execution across concurrent transactions.

You will lead a core integration team, including technical integration resources and a dedicated project manager, while coordinating specialist teams across infrastructure, end user services, identity, and security. This is a program leadership and capability-building role, where you will define structure, establish governance, and drive execution through others rather than acting as a hands-on technical contributor.

Operating at the intersection of technology and M&A, you will ensure acquisitions are rigorously evaluated, efficiently integrated, and transitioned into steady-state operations with clear visibility into risk, cost, and timelines.

This is a fully remote role, open across Canada.

Who you are

You bring a blend of M&A and technology experience, with M&A as your primary lens and technology as contextual depth. You have led or meaningfully contributed to technology or security integration in acquisition environments and are comfortable operating across both clinic/end-user and SaaS or infrastructure-heavy deal contexts.

You are seeking a program leadership role where you can shape a function, lead teams, and drive organizational maturity—applying strong technical judgment without being in a hands-on delivery role.

What’s in it for you

Immediate impact. You will build and scale a dedicated Technology M&A Integration function at the center of WELL’s acquisition strategy, directly influencing integration speed, risk visibility, and execution quality across a high volume and increasing complexity of deals.

End-to-end ownership. You will define how technology diligence, integration planning, and execution are delivered across the organization. You will build playbooks, governance, and operating cadence to create a scalable and repeatable integration model.

Operate at the center of growth. You will work across multiple concurrent transactions in a fast-paced environment where each acquisition introduces new technologies, risks, and opportunities.

Career acceleration. This role sits within a visible leadership pipeline for senior enterprise technology roles, with the opportunity to evolve into broader M&A technology leadership or enterprise technology roles as the organization scales.

You will:

  • Lead and mature the capability. You will transition WELL from a reactive approach to a structured, repeatable M&A integration operating model with clear governance, KPIs and execution standards. You will improve consistency across concurrent, high-volume deals while introducing automation,  tooling, and scalable practices to support increasing acquisition volume.
  • Drive integration performance. You will establish and track success metrics across the portfolio, reducing integration timelines to a 90-day post-close baseline for core technology integration activities while maintaining risk control and operational stability. You will leverage emerging tools, including Dealizer AI, to enhance diligence, accelerate risk identification, and improve the quality of early-stage integration planning.
  • Own technology diligence. You will lead diligence across acquisition, partnering with Corporate Development, Security, Legal, Finance, and HR. You will assess core domains, including infrastructure, cloud/hosting, networks, endpoints, identity (Microsoft 365 / Entra ID), backup and disaster recovery, IT operations, and key vendors. You will coordinate security inputs (e.g., IAM, MFA, endpoint protection, monitoring) and consolidate findings into clear, decision-ready outputs outlining risks, integration complexity, dependencies, costs, and timelines.
  • Define integration planning and Day 1 readiness. You will shape the integration approach for each deal, balancing speed, risk, and business continuity. You will lead Day 1 and Day 30/60/90 planning with focus on identity and access, collaboration tools, endpoint posture, connectivity, and security controls, ensuring alignment across technical teams.
  • Oversee post-close integration execution. You will lead governance across technology workstreams, ensuring integrations are executed in a structured, prioritized way. You will manage risks, dependencies, and escalation while guiding acquired entities toward WELL technology and security standards and supporting transition to steady-state operations.
  • Manage program and portfolio execution. You will oversee a portfolio of concurrent transactions, managing prioritization, capacity planning, and delivery. You will maintain integrated plans, RAID logs, dashboards, and reporting that clearly communicate risks, progress, and business impact.
  • Drive stakeholder alignment. You will work cross-functionally with Corporate Development, Legal, Finance, HR, and technical teams, ensuring alignment from diligence through integration. You will communicate clearly with executive stakeholders and produce structured, decision-ready materials.
  • Establish metrics and continuous improvement. You will define and track KPIs such as diligence cycle time, Day 1 readiness, and time to baseline controls. You will lead post-integration reviews, and continuously improve operating models, speed, and execution quality.
  • Ensure financial and operational discipline. You will develop and manage integration budgets, evaluate TSA requirements, and optimize vendor and cost structures. You will identify efficiencies through standardization, optimization, and consolidation, ensuring transparency across cost, timeline, and risk.

Here’s what you bring:

  • The experience. You bring progressive leadership experience across technology, infrastructure, integration, or related domains, with direct exposure to M&A due diligence and post-close integration, or similarly complex enterprise transformation programs. You understand infrastructure, cloud environments (AWS, Azure), networks, endpoints, identity, and IT operations, and can assess environments in varied acquisition contexts.
  • The execution mindset. You are a structured, pragmatic leader who brings clarity and prioritization to complex, fast-moving environments. You have experience improving operating models, governance, or delivery frameworks with a focus on scalability, efficiency, including thoughtful use of automation and AI. You thrive in fast-paced, acquisition-driven environments where priorities shift and speed matters.
  • The leadership capability. You have led cross-functional programs and teams, balancing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities. You communicate clearly, translate technical complexity into business insight, and influence executive decision-making effectively. You can lead by example, motivate teams, and drive engagement across the organization.
