The opportunity
Reporting to the Vice President, Enterprise Risk, we have a new opportunity for a Director, Enterprise Risk, created in response to the speed at which we are growing. This position will play a central role in advancing and operationalizing WELL Health’s enterprise risk management program across a complex, rapidly scaling healthcare technology organization. You will work in close partnership with HEALWELL, our AI business focused on preventative care, as well as a growing portfolio of existing and future acquisition companies.
This is a highly visible, execution-focused leadership role for an individual who thrives on ownership, accountability, and follow-through. You will develop deep insight into enterprise-wide and emerging risks, build trusted relationships with senior leaders, and translate risk assessments into concrete actions that drive measurable progress. Your work will have direct exposure to executive leadership and the Board, with a mandate to ensure risks are actively managed, remediated, and clearly communicated across the organization.

Ownership. This role offers end-to-end accountability for driving enterprise risk forward. You will work in close partnership with the VP to truly define and map out your role. You will identify gaps, define remediation paths, and ensure follow-through, with clear expectations for measurement and outcomes. You will act as a right-hand to senior leadership, helping coordinate enterprise risk activities across dozens of business units and acquisitions, ensuring priorities are addressed and progress is tracked at scale.

You will:
- Advance enterprise risk assessment and execution. You will conduct and regularly update enterprise risk assessments across the eight pillars of the enterprise risk program, including Privacy, Security, AI Governance, Financial Controls, Legal and Regulatory Compliance, People and Culture, M&A, and Operations. You will maintain an evolving enterprise risk register, ensuring risks are consistently documented, rated, and actively managed. You will partner with business leaders to validate audit findings, identify root causes, and confirm practical remediation plans.
- Drive risk mitigation and accountability. You will define, monitor, and enforce service-level agreements for risk remediation, ensuring accountable teams deliver on their commitments. You will escalate material risks to executive leadership and the Board, supported by precise analysis and recommendations. You will support the development and strengthening of controls, processes, and operating practices to reduce enterprise risk exposure.
- Lead stakeholder engagement and collaboration. You will serve as a trusted advisor to business, technology, and operations leaders on enterprise risk priorities. You will facilitate risk assessment workshops and scenario planning sessions with executives and functional leaders. You will work cross-functionally to embed risk management practices into day-to-day operations and decision-making, serving as a positive, credible force for accountability.
- Strengthen reporting and governance. You will produce enterprise risk dashboards and reports for executive leadership and the Board, highlighting status, trends, and progress against remediation SLAs. You will track and communicate key risk indicators and emerging risks. You will contribute to risk-related disclosures, including annual reporting, compliance attestations, and regulatory submissions.
You bring:
- The expertise. You have experience in enterprise risk management, internal audit, and compliance. You bring a strong understanding of enterprise risk frameworks and audit methodologies. You have demonstrated the ability to manage multiple risks across diverse functional domains and to translate complex risk issues into clear, actionable guidance for senior leaders. Ideally, you have exposure to M&A risk integration, and organizational change management is considered an asset. You may be coming from healthcare, consulting, finance, or experience in enterprise risk management, internal audit, compliance, or a related governance function.
- The executive collaboration skills. You apply a consulting-oriented approach to enterprise risk and are a proven partner who builds credibility quickly, establishing trusted relationships across finance, technology, operations, security, legal, and executive leadership. You engage risk owners in meaningful dialogue, uncovering constraints, priorities, and unmet needs, and translate these insights into practical, implementable solutions. Highly effective in fast-paced, resource-constrained environments, you influence without authority, adapt your communication to technical and non-technical audiences, and are comfortable engaging senior leaders, including CEOs, CFOs, and Board-level stakeholders.
- Project leadership. You excel at delivering high-impact results while maintaining stakeholder trust. You lead initiatives with integrity, transparency, and a commitment to excellence. You navigate complex challenges, gain insights into business needs, identify solutions, and translate them into measurable actions with clear deliverables and timelines. You have a proven ability to define what progress looks like, track advancement against agreed milestones and SLAs, and clearly communicate whether risk exposure is improving, stagnating, or escalating.
- The drive. You combine analytical rigour with creative problem-solving. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, identifying gaps in processes or controls,, and designing fit-for-purpose solutions that can scale across a complex, decentralized organization. You do not stop at recommendations, but actively drive execution, maintaining a disciplined focus on outcomes and measurement. You are motivated by tangible impact and by ensuring that enterprise risk discussions lead to sustained, measurable improvement.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $170K - 180K. The salary will be determined based on several factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and the needs of the organization.
